Member Benefits

Image Competition

Ready to showcase your skills and push your creative boundaries? Our image competition is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself, receive valuable feedback, and gain recognition for your work.

The cost for members to submit images is $8.00 per image, with a maximum of three images per month. PPGH now uses printcompetition.com to manage our monthly image competitions. To participate, click the link below to create an account, which costs $14 for the year. You can pay your competition fee directly on printcompetition.com when you upload your image(s).

The PPGH Image Competition Rules PDF with an explanation of how judging calculations works is HERE. If you have any questions, please contact the Image Competition Committee.

Note: Image competition is for members of PPGH only. Any images that have previously merited, at any level, with an 80 or above may not be submitted. This also applies to images that have scored 80 or above at State, Region or National. Maker gives PPGH permission to use any merited image with maker credit for a showcase book at the end of the image competition year, publish images in our Viewfinder newsletter, and use on our PPGH website. Members must sign on to the zoom presentation to view the image competition before the end of image competition to be considered for awards. Failure to sign on to the zoom presentation will disqualify maker from awards (monthly and year end). Members still may submit their images without the above and the image will be judged, it just will not be considered for awards.

Our print competition is every 4th Tuesday of the Month live on Zoom.  We use PPA Approved Jurors and Jurors with Master's Degrees from all over the country.  It is a great place to try your images out and get live feedback without paying a lot.  It is a great learning experience for all who attend.

Uploaded files must be sized so the longest dimension is 4,000 pixels (20 inches at 200 ppi). Each file must contain an embedded color profile of either sRGB or Adobe RGB1998 and be saved at a JPEG quality setting of 10.

Mentorship Program

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to elevate your craft, finding the right mentor can make all the difference. At PPGH, we connect you with seasoned professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping you grow. It’s a huge perk of your membership!

Here’s how it works:

Mentorships span a period of 3 months.

Mentorship windows are January-March or August-October to avoid conflicting with busy season.

1 meeting (in person or via Zoom) each month with a 2 hour limit.

The mentor can specify topics on which s/he wants to mentor.

Any changes to the mentor/mentee relationship should be discussed with the mentorship coordinator.

Once your application is received, you will be matched with a mentor as the window opens and as mentors become available.
