The Magic of Modifiers by Scott Holleman

Scott Holleman presented an awesome workshop on Saturday all about using light modifiers and their placement. The goal was to demonstrate how lighting and modifiers work hand in hand to achieve pleasant or dramatic lighting. By using modifiers with sunlight to fill in shadows or in studio to create portraits to using gels to create special effects Scott covered it all. He explained how the use of a lightmeter helps but at the same time if a lightmeter is not available how you can still use light to the photographers advantage by understanding how a modifier and placement all work together. If you are in doubt about lighting, using modifiers of all kinds then Scott is the go to person.
